One focus for the Little Black Dress Alliance is empowering women. We feel, as strong, vibrant women ourselves, we want to give young women the opportunity to learn and empower themselves. As part of the scholarship process, LBDA requires applicants to submit a 500-word essay about the woman who has most inspired them. After they go through an elimination process, the finalists are interviewed by a panel of LBDA members. Scholarship winners are chosen from these finalists.
